When I buy things, I like to research beforehand and I'm interested in reading about the experiences of buyers.
Although product reviews interest me, Currently I'm more influenced by a customer’s comments on the buying experience than probably anything else. With this in mind I thought that from time to time it might be worthwhile to show what a customer thought after spending time with me at Stereonow.
You’ll notice that deliberately I have removed any reference to the equipment that my customer was listened to. I might get around to publishing customer reviews of specific items – but for the time being this page will focus on how they viewed the auditioning experience.
Mr. G. L wrote the following:
“First and foremost, the music jumped from the system like I have near heard before. I heard my LPs as I’ve never heard them before. I thought, my records don’t sound like that. I am an experienced listener and the music was emerging from the inky black background I have read about but never previously experienced.
What struck me, and ultimately why I bought the items was the precise attack but without any trace of hardness. None at all. Not even on CDs I had previously disregarded. Good idea incidentally suggesting I bring records I did not like. All the other dealers suggested bringing music I did like.
That Christmas carol track you played, even though I do not like religious music was fantastic.
Or rather the bells were fantastic. They sounded like bells. Bells in the room.
Every musical element on most of the recordings seemed to be there. It was complete. I was listening to some different and better and fundamentally better than I have ever heard before.
There was a life and presentation to performances that no other equipment has ever revealed to me. The 3D picture seemed correct at all volume levels. Other dealers seem to start off at near deafening levels and work up from that. Your system, well my system now never sounds flat. My great recordings sounded even more magnificent than ever.
I have rarely spent a more expensive 3 hours nor a more pleasurable one. I felt at home in your home. It was a pleasure buying from you. It really was.
Now that I have settled in with the equipment, it turns out you were quite correct. There are many aspects I not experience in the demonstration. Yes, the harmonic and rhythmic structure on everything from bass instruments to treble instrument – and the piano was correct at all volumes. Bass thunder really was there. It wasn’t bass light at all. I had been experiencing bass bloat previously. Never again now though.
